Team LK don’t hang about, their second release this year is out today and oh baby baby its good. They got me on board again to illustrate and Tim to design. The knights are very gracious in giving me heaps of freedom to draw as I please and this series is a result of that. The originals were up in Indo for my solo show because they reflect a very current style and season in my work. I’ve yet to see the product in the flesh so I’m almost wetting myself out of excitement.
Go buy it, it will look great and sound great, promise.

This weekend I went to Forfey festival in Northern Island to play bass for Daniel Peterson (skip). It was totally wicked. I met loads of great people and listened to their great bands  and generally had a brilliant lovely time.

This week I’m gonna post a tune a day from some of the bands I met. The first one is Devotion by The Lowly Knights. Their set was really fun and they are all legends that I would like to hang out/drink beer with more often. It turns out Northern Ireland has a wicked little music scene where everyone seems to know each other and they really enjoy playing together and collaborating. Anywho The Lowly Knights have got a new EP coming out on september the 12th and you should get it cos it will be awesome.

This is rad… My friends TWiN in NYC, chose my EP in their top 20 albums at a NY bash which is described in the above article on boardsmag.com.  More importantly, have a look TWiN’s stuff, it’s unreal!

Taken from the article above they said: “It’s the chance to ‘direct’ the playlist of the night, but we wanted to take the concept a little further and integrate some visuals that could potentially give the event a bit more experience-factor.

We’ve always been fanboys of the illustration world, and really only get to collaborate with them during the pre-production and conceptual stage of a visual-FX project. What got us excited was the idea of working with twenty different artists interpreting our playlist of favorite music. What we came up with was ‘OurFavoriteAlbumsNotYours’. We then had the hard task of narrowing the history of music down to twenty recent albums that influence and inspire us as directors [and that we agree on!], and then having to gather 20 New York illustrators that were up for the challenge. Luckily the project seemed unique enough that damn near 90% of the guys we asked jumped at the chance to come in and draw up an original piece on camera. Our only brief was for them to take inspiration from the two chosen songs, and apply their individual talents to a huge blank canvas in black marker. Sped-up footage of the artworks would then be played throughout the party along with the music, and the pieces themselves exhibited for all to see.”

The illustrator that was handed my EP was Justin Gabbard (examples to follow hopefully)
